Galway Rambler (Reel)
About
James Kelly states: “This version my father plays is a mixture of two versions – common 1st part plus Michael Coleman’s 2nd part. The version Michael Coleman played had the 2nd part my father learned from Coleman. The common 2nd part stays in the major key of G whereas the Coleman setting goes into the minor E.”
Brendan Breathnach collect this tune from John’s good friend Sonny Brogan under the name “Tiarna Wellington” for his book Ceol Rince na hÉireann I, 1963; No. 199.
