Description A scene from the RTÉ Television programme ‘Down at Flannery’s’ in 1963. The action is taking place in a bar. The cast members on the set include, from left to right, an unidentified man sitting at at table on which there is a trophy or cup, future RTÉ producer Lelia Doolan as Nora Flannery dancing with Martin Dempsey who played Paddy Joe Flannery, her television father, Jack O’Reilly as Peter Cleary and traditional Irish fiddle player John Kelly playing his fiddle.

‘Down at Flannery’s’ was an RTÉ light entertainment production, which combined ballad singing and traditional music with the day to day happenings in a fictional Irish village, Ballybeckett. It was first screened on 10 July 1963.
